My method of choice was to hang out at the airport before and after big festivals and meet the bands as they came out. I should be doing it tomorrow for the Big Day Out, but I've already met most of the bands and it costs heaps to get out there.
Also got a few from instore appearances.
Worst person to meet: Noel from Oasis. Liam was really nice, but Noel was an absolute prick and refused any photos. Morrissey was a rude bastard who didn't say anything.
Nicest person to meet: Jack White from the White Stripes. This was before they got really huge. He was genuinely nice and surprised that we wanted autographs, and he later gave us limited edition 6" versions of Hello Operator/Jolene.
